Shut the door, leave God off Jamaica buses.. Absurd!

DEAR EDITOR:

I AM totally disturbed about the fact that Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Radcliffe Lewis has warned that persons who preach the gospel on public transportation would be prosecuted. It’s absurd; Jamaica is in turmoil. We are in a spiritual warfare with the devil. So when SSP Lewis and the management of the Jamaica Urban Transit Company are banning preaching on the buses, they are opening the society to the devil and shutting out God. I guess we all know what happens when you shut out God.

What about the Kingston and rural transit companies? Only sexual, gangster and devilish songs come out of these buses. These songs play day in and day out. They teach the younger generation nothing, except to be boisterous, disrespectful and use profane language. It’s repugnant; everywhere you turn, all you hear is these lewd, rude songs. If it wasn’t for all these preaching of the word of God and praying, I wouldn’t have become a Christian.

It’s abhorrent for SSP Lewis to say that preaching on public buses is an offence and a crime. If he is saying that these persons will be prosecuted or banned, he is making a big mistake. He needs to go back to the drawing board, because many of these preachers didn’t choose themselves to be ministers. God chose them to spread the gospel. SSP Lewis wants to stop God’s work. Apparently, he doesn’t know what God can do to him. These preachers do not force person to listen to the word of God.

Furthermore, what about the dancehall music that plays constantly in the streets and in cars? Why doesn’t SSP Lewis go and ban those? Why is he trying to open up our little Jamaica to the devil? It’s God’s time now! These ministers are on a mission, so leave them alone. Let them do the work of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
